Soccer and Volleyball Teams Support Pink Warrior House Foundation
November 4th, 2024
Sandia Prep’s Varsity Girls Soccer team and Girls Volleyball team raised money in two benefit games for the nonprofit Pink Warrior House Foundation.
The mission of the Pink Warrior House Foundation is to provide a community which supports those battling breast cancer, and their caregiver(s), with emotional and social services to foster hope and positive outcomes.
The volleyball team raised $1,600, and the soccer team raised $1,258. The Sundevil Athletics Organization (SAO) provided each team with a $500 contribution, included in those totals. Prep’s total donation to the foundation was $2,858.
The Pink Warrior House offers support groups, counseling, art therapy, yoga, meditation and mindfulness classes and experiences, Beautiful Warrior makeup and skincare classes, nutritional support, a wig exchange with a professional stylist, a monthly virtual lecture series, a “Battle Buddy” network to pair those newly diagnosed with someone who has been through a similar fight, and more. All services are available at no cost to anyone personally impacted by breast cancer.
Allison Hendricks-Smith, president/founder of the Pink Warrior House Foundation, graciously accepted the donation at a recent all-school assembly. You can learn more about the organization here.
