Seniors in the Spanish 5 and Heritage Language classes traveled to El Paso last month for the Cristo Rey Border Immersion Program, led by Modern Language Chair Claudio PΓ©rez. π The students volunteered at the Hugs Not Walls event, organized by the Border Network for Human Rights, which allows migrant families to reunite with loved ones who have irregular migrant status in the U.S. and are unable to return to Mexico. It was an unforgettable experience for our students and faculty. ππ

Sandia Prep's Varsity Mountain Bike team clinched the 2024 state championship title, dominating across all teams in the New Mexico Cycling League. In addition to the teamβs success, Jane '27 secured the individual state championship title for Girls Varsity. What a season, Sundevils! π΄ββοΈπ₯
Seniors Olivia and Parker designed an adaptive device to help a child with disabilities enjoy activities safely. βIt taught us more than engineeringβit showed us how to solve real problems for those who need it most.β

Congratulations to our Girls and Boys Cross Country teams on wrapping up their seasons this past weekend! A special shoutout to Kate β25 for winning the Class 3A Girls race at the 2024 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico State Cross Country Championships. Izzy β25 also had a strong performance, finishing in 9th place. Additionally, Kate signed her National Letter of Intent to the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, where she will be running cross country and track and field.
