Three Prep Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists

Three members of Sandia Prep's Class of 2023 have been named National Merit Finalists through the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
Garrett Beard '23, Michael Lawyer '23, and Giovanni Pascetti '23 were named National Merit Semifinalists after scoring high on the PSAT/NMSQT the previous fall. Academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,250 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $28 million that will be offered this spring.
Of the 16,000 Semifinalists who qualified, verification of academic performance and an application with essay were required to continue on as Finalists. In March, Finalists will learn whether they will be among the Merit Scholarship winners.
