Why Prep

Favorite Book
I love the voice of the protagonist in the novel Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. Years after reading it, I still feel like Ifemelu is an old friend that I could call to catch up with anytime.

What's your secret skill or something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I've always been happiest when I'm in motion, sweating profusely (TMI?!) while doing martial arts, dance, or hot yoga.

What do you enjoy most about Sandia Prep?
The people, of course! I am perpetually in awe of the "all in" attitude of our faculty and staff, and it's no wonder that our students quickly adopt the same enthusiasm and commitment to learning and the Prep community. This is one of the happiest places I've ever known. To me, it feels like the joy of summer camp invigorated by the thrilling intellectual pursuit of students, faculty, and leadership.

How do you like to spend your downtime? 
Firstly, anywhere my kids and husband can be found (usually in the kitchen). Secondly, with wonderful friends from every corner of my life; and thirdly, either totally free in the great outdoors or completely boxed in doing dance or hot yoga. How can I leave out books and naps? I can't.
