Aikido Bootcamp

Aikido is a noncompetitive modern Japanese martial art. It teaches nonlethal self-defense by redirecting the power of the attack, awareness of one’s surroundings, and victory over oneself. Aikido is great physical and mental exercise. It develops flexibility, balance, core strength, mind-body coordination, character development, plus it’s fun! This camp will involve physical conditioning, aikido philosophy and techniques, Japanese language and cultural activities, and basic dojo etiquette. If you already have a gi, you may wear it. If you don’t have a gi, wear a long-sleeve t-shirt and light sweatpants, leggings, or other athletic wear.

Archery

Downward Dog: Yoga for Kids

Happy baby. Cobra. Cat/cow. Yoga poses may have some funny names, but practicing postures, breathing, and mindfulness has been shown to build strength, flexibility, and confidence in school-age children. Calm and refresh your body and mind in this popular class!

Elevate Performance Health and Wellness

Jumpstart your athletic performance, health, and wellness journey. Understand how to navigate the weight room, build your physical confidence, develop power and speed, and learn about sleep and nutrition. This class is taught by strength and conditioning professionals at Elevate Performance Health and Wellness, a premier strength and conditioning facility located near Sandia Prep. Parent/guardian pick-up at Elevate is available, however campers must ride the Sandia Prep bus to the Elevate Performance Health and Wellness facility (3901 Singer Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109) from campus.

Fencing

Mini Musketeers (Younger Campers)
Focus or fold! Fencing teaches focus, fortitude, and control. Learn the basics of the sport using a thrusting or point weapon called an épée. (Mini Musketeers use a plastic eppe.) Course taught by Maestra Courtney Hurley, three-time Olympian, Bronze medalist, and owner of Duke City Fencing. Fencing foil and head and torso equipment provided. Long pants or sweatpants are required.

Musketeers (Older Campers)
Focus or fold! NEW! Soccer Speciality Camp

Boost fundamental skills, build confidence, and participate in exciting games under the leadership of Coach Brian Weems and his experienced staff. This specialty SummerPrep camp is designed for players with beginning to advanced abilities. The daily schedule includes technical drills, small-sided and full-sided games, and goalkeeper training. Each camper will be trained in ball control, passing techniques, receiving, and shooting accuracy. Enroll in one or both weeks! Camp will take place on Sandia Prep's East Fields with drop-off and pick-up at the north parking lot.
